Bali is famous for its long beaches, the sand isn't as white as home, I didn't go for a swim (forgot my swimmers) but ma do laters.  All along the sand are these lounges that you rent, no one is lying on a towell here like they do at home.  Theres people who go along the beach selling drinks (they have lil stalls set up) and snacks (they have these fried puffed things that look like pork crackle), books (2nd hand that are strapped to the back of their scooters) '''see the pic below,  and fruit (papaya), little wrist plaited bands (why aren't these kids in school?) Its gloriously sunny not over crowded and has such a social festive vibe here, lots of peoples playing cards, ball games and all their lounges grouped together for a chat. I was chatting to one Aussie, she had her monkeys with her, her pets!  All the people I am meeting here are all so friendly, this Aussie girl lives here and gave me some great tips.  Oh the monkey on the top of the umbrella was jumping all over, really cheeky and the one on the couch was smiling at me with big soul full eyes, everytime I took a pic he shyly looked away so didnt get his cute lil face in.  The boardwalk along the beach is all cafe's and restaurants some with tropical gardens.  I asked a local where to eat (as I want Balinese food NOT Italian) and got another wrapped package of 'take away' from a sweet old lady (no teeth again what is it with teeth here are there no dentists?) She gave me some wonderful spiced tofu (fried) some yummy chicken and recommended another dish that had shredded coconut and green papaya and spice that looked odd but on tasting it I was in heaven!!!!! What on earth are these silly tourists doing eating pizza when there is such glorious taste sensations next door!  Maybe they are unsure of the food, how it looks and the 'cleanliness' risk of getting 'bali belly' but I have been reassured by a few people living here that the food is fine and it IS!  No I haven't gotten even a tummy twitch not has it effected my blood sugar levels and I am enjoying eating it sooooo much!
